Creating a safety committee comprised of your employees is a terrific way to ensure employee support of your safety and wellness program. OSHA has found that employee participation is crucial because it allows workers to weigh-in on important safety issues and gives them an opportunity for their concerns to be heard by company leaders. Obviously, your workers are in the best position to know what may be a safety concern on the job. Seeking their feedback may provide insights that allow you to take care of potential safety hazards before they cause serious injury.
This is something we are able to help facilitate. We have sample safety committee agendas and meeting minutes that we can provide. A safety committee, while by no means a required piece of the safety and wellness puzzle is a great way to get your employees involved as stakeholders in the process and give them a venue by which their voices can be heard by company leadership.
